Hi all. Mother's Day will soon be upon us do ive been making cards. First the green one I showed you the other day but also a blu variation using the same stamp and similar techniques. The stamp is stampin up morning meadow, happy Mother's Day is from a WOW set of sentiments stamps, paper is again Dovecraft Basics II, blue card is from paper mill direct, ink is salty ocean by Tim Holtz and the dues are scalloped circles by X-Cut and the fancy shaped kne is Soellbinders from a Christmas set. This card was made for a good friend and fellow driving instructor to give to his 'old dear' I was then asked by another driving instructor and good friend to make a white on white card with some pearls. I used an X-Cut embossing folder - butterflies, Soellbinders labels for the due cut and paper mania mum stamp using the wow clear ink pak and platinum embossing powder and finished with a few pearls in white. I love being inspired by people, it gives me immense pleasure to make cards but it's even better when people ask me to make something special. Lastly for today's post, I finished a monkey, thus little guy is all ready to go to his forever home :) Now I can't say goodbye before showing my handsome boy proudly showing off his new tag which arrived in the post this morning... So today ive made a card using a stamp a good friend of mine Lea managed to find through her stampin up contacts, she is a demonstrator for them so if ever you need anything, she is the lady to ask :) I put it to work with Tim Holtz Distress Ink 'mowed lawn' and promarkers apple, leaf green, buttercup, tulip yellow and eggnog. I also used X-Cut dies (the name evades me just now) and gorgeous green polka dot paper from Dovecraft Back to Basics II. Hope you like it. The gorgeous stampin up stamp from the 'morning meadow' set. All cut and stamped and ready for colouring, mounting and finishing touches. Below is the finished card. Hope you like it :) I also used some gold halfback pearls, stickles diamond and my trusty tools, ebosser, collall glue, scissors and double sided foam tape :) Very excited today. Ive had another idea for the Mother's Day project plus some of the things I started yesterday are looking great. I'll be heading to the crafty desk later to build on the ideas ive started working on and more pics will be available soon. Excited much!! So that is Valentine's done and dusted for another year so that can mean only one thing... Onto the next event in the calendar. Mother Day! Ive had an idea for something's offering that can be kept and hopefully something you won't have seen before. Circumstances beyond my control mean I can't start work on this until tomorrow so keep checking back daily to see how it is going. For now, here is a clue... Hi folks Sorry for the gap since the last post we have had a very busy few days. Our facebook group (https://m.facebook.com/profile.php?id=433578330125331&ref=bookmark) hit 100 likers so there was a prize draw to arrange and also we've been busy doing some updating of photos too on Pinterest as the new laptop lead finally arrived :) there are still more to add and you can follow us here : https://www.pinterest.com/donnagreen83/my-makes/ There will be new items leaving the crafty desk very soon. If you would like to see something particular let me know :) Happy crafting :) So it's been a busy day in the green household today. There has been cake baking, dog walking, parcel wrapping, accounting work and ive finally finished the card I started yesterday!! It's quite a pretty card which is now for sale :) I haven't added a greeting just yet as it depends on what occasion it is to be used for :) hope you like it :)) So I started with hot pink card which has been embossed with butterfly frame. A butterfly die cut and embossed using a spellbinders die into pale pink card (bought from Daisys Jewels and Crafts) and parchment (from the Internet - think it was ebay bug ive had it a while). And then the sane pale pink and parchment used to cut flowers using a die-namites die :) Add a few jewels and mount it all into a cream card (this was a pre scored and cut one from a pack from rymans). And voila..... Hope you like it :) Id love to know what you think. Now it's time for a rest while Mr Green makes a few more origami cranes... Just in case we run out... Hello and welcome to Saturday. So far I've read a few pages of my uni book after breakfast but now I think it's time to go and tidy the craft desk and start creating. Want to pick a theme for today's card? Over the coming weeks we will be updating you with our crafty antics! Not that I am a craftaholic or anything BUT... I currently have the following crochet projects in progress... a toy horse a monkey a baby blanket a top secret project not to mention a huge throw that is completed in separate squares! Apart from that, I have a cross stitch to complete, cards to make for family events, and so many ideas I wonder if I will remember them all!! Now that's enough about my projects, Norm is always making origami (usually lots and lots of cranes), he is always looking for ways in which to make them interesting and unique as well as sticking with the traditional design. We also need to start preparing for the spring, having the allotment that means lots of seed sowing to do. I am also doing a history degree with the Open University, and Max is a real livewire so Norm is always having to take him for long walks! Talk of the devil..... |
